My friend Neil and I - both seasoned carpers decided to visit this attractive Shropshire pool for a day session.
By mid day - we had landed a dozen or so fish to around 13lb and soon realised that our big fish tactics may be a little over eager. However - we were both stunned by the beauty of these fish (apparently stocked in 2004).
When things slowed down a little - we wound some carp rods in and had a roach fishing competition - which using hemp and tares was amazing sport! We also picked up a small common on the float. At tea time, quite content with our days sport - we went home.
Howle Pool won't break any records yet - but with the scenery and the quality and quantity of the stock in here - it is enjoyable to fish none the less. The carp in here are some of the best looking I have seen for quite a while and if these fish grow - this could be an awesome day ticket water in the future.
